In 1946, the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR the right sector-led T.M.Kulteleeva was established, and in 1958 the sector has been transformed into the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR. In 1991, the Institute has acquired a new status – the status of the Institute of State and Law. According to the decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 236 of 14.02.2000, “On certain measures for the integration of science and education of RK” Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan was merged with the Kazakh State Law University, which was an important step in the integration of science and education sphere in law. In autumn 2008, according an order of the Rector KazNU academician Zhumagulov B.T. the Institute of State and Law became a research division of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on December 18, 2008.
